Overview
If you've purchased Webninja's integration with Paypal's latest version, (including the option for "Pay in 4")
There's a bit of setup involved and you'll need to wait for Webninja to notify you when the module has been activated on your site as you won't be able to follow these steps until then.
Enable Paypal Payment Method
To set up the new PayPal please follow these instructions:
In the CMS back-end of your site, there are some settings you need to enable and enter some security credentials in order to make Paypal active on your site so you can receive payments via Paypal accounts and credit cards.
If Webninja hasn't already activated it for you, you'll need to enable Paypal JS in your list of payment methods:
- In the Left-Hand menu, go to Payment Methods:
- enable Paypal JS:
- To enable Pay in 4 - tick on "Pay Later"
Create Secure API Credentials Via Paypal
Navigate to this screen to view your current apps and credentials with Paypal - https://developer.paypal.com/dashboard/applications/live
Make sure the toggle is set to Live:
Click on Create App from that same page and name it "Web Ninja"
Once created, you don't need to change any settings.
Apply Credentials to Webninja Settings
Copy and paste the client ID and Secret Key (above) into the Paypal JS settings in the CMS of your site:
IMPORTANT NOTE:
please don't give out your Secret key to anyone and keep it secure - PayPal may even prevent you from accessing it after you've initially copied it for security reasons.
If you run into issues or need to forward the credentials to Webninja Support, please use a secure method for sharing sensitive data such as a password vault or some other encrypted method.
NOTE: if you want to test the site first in Sandbox mode, please contact Webninja Support or whoever quoted you for the Payment Method so they can enable debug mode for you.
This will require a separate set of sandbox API details following the same steps as above, but using the sandbox toggle.
New Paypal Buttons on Checkout
Now depending on whether or not you have Paypal "Pay in 4" enabled - the submit order button will be replaced with 2 Paypal buttons on the checkout:
Customers wanting to pay via their Paypal account or to pay by Credit Card via Paypal can do so via the first button.
Otherwise clicking on Pay in 4 will give them options for logging into their Paypal account and initiating the process for Pay in 4.
Both options will open a secure pop-up window into Paypal's payment gateway - this is hosted by Paypal separate from your site so Paypal, not the website, will securely handle all transactions.
Standard Paypal pop-up:
